"It aims to minimize inundation in the rainy season," said Ceger Urban Village Economy and Development Section Head, Nurhasanah, Monday (2/19).

According to her, the mud drained has a thickness of 20 to 25 centimeters. After being drained, the mud was put into sacks and then dumped into empty land which is in a hollow condition.

"This mud has touched 20 to 25 centimeters deep," she added.

Wiwid (38), a resident of RT 02/04 said the existing channels were sufficient to accommodate high water discharge and were still functioning normally.

"Hopefully, it can minimize inundation maximally," she hoped.
